The Ariege is a great climbing area in the South of France. It's quite a compact area but it certainly packs quite a punch with single pitch sport climbing, multi-pitch routes and bouldering, there is a mixture of rock types there from Granit, limestone and Gneiss. If you get bored of climbing (not that will be possible) or need a rest then there are plenty of other activities on offer, like mountain biking, kayaking, via Ferrata, caving, mountain walking, skiing and exploring the local towns and castles. Another big bonus of the Ariege is it is an all-year-round climbing destination so no matter when you're there you will be able to climb.
